Also this individual is responsible for ordering ice cream and supplies
needed for the Annual Scoop & Swap which takes place in May.

Hot Dog Night

In
conjunction with the PTA Executive Committee, this individual coordinates
volunteers and donations for the school’s first, and most anticipated Family Fun
Event of the Fall. This event traditionally takes place on school grounds in
mid/late September.

Program; a program where families can purchase new library books in

members, track members and dues and deliver membership cards. After

Searches
for Officers and Committee Chairs for the following year’s PTA. This
committee is most active in the Spring.

Coordinates and promotes an Annual Student Week Long Fundraiser in support of various Charities; typically coordinates with the Spring Dance.

Restaurant Nights

Chooses,
coordinates and promotes several PTA Restaurant Nights throughout the school
year. These are one day or one night fundraisers when the PTA earns a
percentage of the day or dinner receipts at the selected restaurant.

Scholarship- Recipient Selection Committee

Responsible
for promoting the PTA’s scholarships to local high schools, evaluating
submissions and awarding the scholarships.

Science Theme Night

Plans
and coordinates a Science night. This event usually takes place in mid/late
January.

Sign-My-Shirt

Organizes
the Sign-My-Shirt sales event which takes place each year in early/mid May.
Students will be able to vote on their favorite t-shirt design which is
designed by 4th or 5th Grade students. Each grade will have
a designated class color for their shirt. Students may have their follow
classmates sign their shirt. The Sign-My-Shirt will also be used as the
Gunpowder Field Day Shirt.

Skateland

Organizes
and promotes two Skateland dates for Gunpowder families. Typically these take
place during the School winter and spring breaks.

& promotes a dance for students each Spring.

Approximately 8-10 hours for the Chair and 3-4
hours on the day of the event

Teacher Appreciation Week

Organizes
a weeklong celebration of our teachers including a luncheon that is held at the
end of week. Treats, goodies and sundries for the staff. This includes lunches, breakfasts,
raffles and small gifts. This event takes place the first full week of
May. After school and in school volunteer opportunity.
