You have arrived at the website home of Gunpowder Elementary PTA. We hope you will find the design and format of our website to be both user-friendly and informative. We invite you to check out each of the above tabs. Our "Committees" tab offers information about Gunpowder PTA committees and various volunteer opportunities. Our "Calendar" page tells you everything going on at the school this month and in the months ahead. The "More Info" tab has links to school forms, event flyers, an e-mail directory of PTA committee chairpersons, and more. It helps keep you in the know about things going on at Gunpowder Elementary School. "My Account" is specific to you. It's a place where you can register your family in our online directory. Be sure to register, so we can send you e-mails and keep you in the loop regarding PTA news and events. Finally, there is our "Fundraising Mall." Start your online shopping on this page and raise money for the PTA without doing anything. It's super easy!

The PTA's Joe Corbi's Pizza fundraiser will begin on Tuesday, January 24, and continue through February 7. Items will be delivered on February 22. More information will be coming home soon.

5th Grade students are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing their class t-shirt on the second Friday of the month.

This is a paid one hour training program at the school. The cost of the course is $25 per person. Classes meet at 6 p.m. in Mrs. Blackwell's classroom, K-1. Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, send at e-mail to cpr@gunpowderpta.org.

Schools and Offices Closed in Observance of the Holiday

Items ordered during the PTA's recent Joe Corbi's fundraiser are available for pick up today. You may pick up your items between 1 and 3 p.m. and between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. in the school's main hallway.

If you cannot pick up your items during these hours, please make arrangements to have a friend get them for you as we do not have storage for them. Orders not picked up will be donated to a local food pantry.

Like Labels for Education on Facebook & Earn 50 Bonus Points

Labels for Education is now on Facebook. Like them and the PTA will earn 50 bonus points and you will have access to special offers, and exclusive bonus offers, as well as a variety of recipes, coupons and more. Points earned via Labels for Education earn free stuff for our school. PTA/Volunteer T-Shirts Available

The PTA is currently selling a t-shirt designed for members and volunteers. The shirts will be heather grey with a blue imprint on the front and back. The cost is $12 per shirt. It's Never Too Late to Join the PTA!

Gunpowder Elementary PTA membership dues are again $8 for the first adult and $7 for each additional adult member in the family. Members get a voice in local chapter affairs, access to state and national resources and discount programs, and free admission to all Gunpowder PTA family fun events. Want to Volunteer?

You can make your child’s experience at Gunpowder an even better one by volunteering. Volunteer in the classroom, or volunteer for the PTA from home or on the weekends. There are lots of ways you can help out. The first step is to participate in BCPS’ volunteer training. Click here for the volunteer process letter.

To volunteer for a PTA committee, contact the chairman. First, visit the "Committee Page" for a description, then go to "More Info" and click on the "PTA Directory" to e-mail the chair.

To volunteer in the classroom, contact the teacher you want to help directly from this page.

PTA Parents Launch New Book Club

A number of PTA board members have decided to start a book club for adults. The club is open to all in the Gunpowder community. Oil Change Fundraiser Benefits Your Car & Our PTA

Tim's Automotive Services, located at 3015 East Joppa Road and at 8528 Old Harford Road, has a fundraising opportunity exclusively for Gunpowder Elementary PTA. Tim's will donate $5 to the PTA for every oil change and 21 point inspection they do. Their service costs just $17.95. All you need to do is download and give them the special offer flyer when you drop off your car. To schedule an appointment, call 410-665-9098 for the Joppa Road location, or 410-668-6161 for the Old Harford Road location. This offer is valid until June 1, 2012.
