| 5th Grade Steering Committee | ||

| Description: | This committee organizes a variety of fundraisers and programs in support of the 5th grade and its end-of-year activities. | |
| Accounting Committee | ||

| Description: | Assists the Treasurer by maintaining the PTA's financial records. | |
| Adopt-A-Family | ||
| Chair: | Kathy Perry | |
| Description: | This committee solicits financial and other donations from Gunpowder families and local businesses so that it may offer help and support to families in need during financially challenging times of the year. | |
| Audit Committee | ||

| Description: | Conducts the annual audit of Gunpowder Elementary PTA's financial records. | |
| Banking Day | ||

| Description: | This committee coordinates the school's monthly Banking Day, a day when a representative from Baltimore County Savings Bank comes to the school to accept deposits and in other ways educate students about financial responsibility. | |
| Box Tops 4 Education | ||

| Description: | This committee collects, prepares and submits Box Tops 4 Education symbols on an ongoing basis. Each Box Top equates to 10 cents for our PTA and has helped purchase supplies and equipment for school over the years. | |
| Bulletin Board | ||

| Description: | Keeps the PTA bulletin board in the school's main hallway updated with information about PTA programs and events. | |
| Business Parnerships | ||

| Description: | Works in conjunction with the PTA's Fundraising Committee to seek out corporate support of PTA initiatives. | |
| Canned Food Drive | ||
| Chair: | Amy Thomas | |
| Description: | Organizes the PTA's annual food drive for needy families. The food drive takes place in the fall in anticipation of Thanksgiving and the holiday season. This year's food drive is planned for November 16 - 20. |

| Description: | Recommends and coordinates presenters and performances for school assemblies. | |
| Environmental Beautification | ||

| Description: | Organizes a fall clean-up of the school grounds. | |
| Faculty Support | ||

| Description: | Supports teachers by helping out in the school's Print Shop and with special projects as they arise. | |
| Fall Social: Outdoor Movie Night | ||

| Description: | Responsible for planning and executing the PTA's fall social. This year the PTA is planning an outdoor movie night at Honeygo Regional Park on October 17. | |
| Fundraising Committee | ||

| Holiday Bazaar | ||

| Description: | Organizes and plans a holiday bazaar. This community event features craft tables, a white elephant sale, bake sale and visit with Santa. This event takes place in early December. | |
| Hospitality Committee | ||

| Description: | Coordinates refreshments at PTA and school functions throughout the year including Grandparents' Day, Kindergarten Registration and events of this type. | |
| Kids Helping Hopkins | ||

| Description: | Coordinates and promotes an annual fundraiser designed to encourage Gunpowder students to support the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. | |
| Kids Stuff Book Fundraiser | ||

| Description: | This is a subcommittee of the Fundraising Committee. It will help with distribution and collection of the Kids Stuff Book fundraiser planned for the very beginning of the school year. | |
| Kindergarten Computer Lab Assistants | ||

| Description: | This committee provides help and support to kindergarten students on the days that they have computer lab. | |
| Kindergarten Registration Coordinator | ||

| Description: | This committee assists with Kindergarten Registration one day in March. Volunteers staff information tables, offer school tours and in other ways help out. | |
| Labels for Education | ||

| Description: | This committee collects and submits product labels in support of Campbells' Labels for Education program. Funds from Labels for Education benefit the PTA and have purchased a variety of items for the school in the past. | |
| Library/Gift Book Program | ||

| Description: | This committee provides volunteer support in the library and assists with the school's Gift Book Program, a program whereby families can purchase new library books in recognition of students or teachers. | |
| Market Day | ||

| Description: | Coordinates promotion, handles orders and oversees distribution of Market Day food orders. Gunpowder's Technology Fund benefits from funds raised by this monthly food order fundraiser. | |

| Newsletter | ||

| Description: | The Newsletter Committee designs, copies and distributes the PTA's monthly newsletter and the Beavers' Log, the PTA's bi-monthly calendar of events. | |

| Scholarship Recipient Selection Committee | ||

| Description: | This committee is responsible for promoting the PTA's scholarships to local high schools, evaluating submissions and awarding the scholarships. | |
| Scholastic Book Fair | ||

| Description: | This committee organizes and staffs two book fairs each year,one in December and one in February. | |
| School Sign | ||

| Description: | Responsible for making sure the information on the sign in front of the school is timely and accurate. | |

| Description: | This committee chooses themes for and promotes five Spirit Days during the school year. | |

| Description: | Acts as a liaison between the Special Education classes and the PTA, making the PTA aware of needs and initiatives that might benefit from the added support of the organization, its members and volunteers. | |

| Volunteer Committee | ||

| Description: | This committee consists of people who are willing to volunteer on an "as needed" basis in the home, on weekends, or in the classroom. If you have a few minutes a month to help out or a day every week, please let us know! The teachers and the administrators could really use your help! | |

| Description: | Organizes, plans and staffs the PTA's winter family fun event. This event is planned for mid-February. | |
